I may be the last one on this planet buying eyeshadow pigments. I had been thinking about buying them for ages but would end up spending my money on shadows or lippies instead. However, this time I took a plunge and bought three of them: MAC Metallic Pro Pigment – Gold, MAC Metallic Pro Pigment – Silver and MAC Pigment – Fuchsia, which I will be reviewing one by one. Pigments add that ‘missing’ sparkle to our makeup which otherwise is very tough to achieve from eyeshadows alone. Let’s analyse MAC Pigment Fuchsia first.
Price: INR 2000 for 4.5 g
A highly concentrated loose colour powder that contains ingredients to help it adhere to the skin. Create a subtle wash of colour or an intense effect. Does not streak or cake. Easy to blend and long-lasting. Please note: Pigments are sold by weight, not volume. Containers can appear to be less than full due to settling of the product.
Apply Pigment with either a dry or wet brush depending on desired effect.
My Experience with MAC Pigment Fuchsia:
The pigment comes in a small plastic jar. You may get disappointed with the size but, trust me, it will last you a lifetime. The screw cap is of rubbery material, which is prone to catching dust pretty fast.
I will not suggest travelling with this pigment bottle as it may break easily and then it will be an unimaginable mess! The color is called Fuchsia and it perfectly stands by the name. This is a very versatile color for Indian outfits and festivals and that’s why I picked it up.
It’s a perfect shade of pink – not neon or in-your-face pink – which I like. The texture is not jittery or glittery but a smooth finely milled powder with a metallic feel to it. It is a very lightweight product and needs to be handled very carefully.
Using it with water gives a more striking tinge to it. A concealer or glitter glue is a must for this product and, as expected, there is a lot of fall out. The product is packed with glitters so doing eye makeup before the face or at least using under eye pads is a must. Try not to stand in front of an AC or under the fan directly when applying this product.
Pros of MAC Pigment Fuchsia:
• Beautiful shade
• Stays for 9 hours
• Quantity will last a lifetime
• Soft and lightweight texture
Cons of MAC Pigment Fuchsia:
• Rubbery cap catches dust
• Non travel-friendly bottle
• Fallout (that’s obvious)
IMBB Rating: 4.5/5
Would I Recommend MAC Pigment Fuchsia?
If you have money in your pocket and are looking for a bright fuchsia shade for eyes to sparkle, this is a very good option.
