Every one of us is aware that choosing the right type of foundation is important. Today, we would be particularly talking about foundations for aging skin. Read on to know more.
What is aging skin?
Be it dry or oily, mature skin type is one of the most difficult skin type which demands frequent attention. Ageing skin is generally observed in people who are more than 40 years of age. You can observe fine lines and wrinkles on this type of skin. Applying makeup, especially foundations, on the aging skin is a difficult task as the foundation ends up settling in between the lines and creases. It may make your skin look cakey and artificial.
Is powder foundation better for aging skin?
Basically, powder foundation is a kind of foundation which gives medium coverage on the skin. Powder foundations are lightweight and hence they do not clog the pores. Since there is no oil or emollient present in this foundation, it is quite light on the face and does not lead to pore clogging. When used on aging skin, the powder may get settled into the fine lines and wrinkles, thus accentuating them. It may make your wrinkles and fine lines easily visible, making your skin look much more mature. Powder foundations do not cover large pores and laugh lines on the skin either.
Is liquid foundation good to be used on aging skin?
Yes, you should be using liquid foundations on the aging skin as the liquid may fill the wrinkles and fine lines easily. The liquid foundation works as a filler which promotes a glowing and flawless complexion. Liquid foundation is a great choice for people with mature skin as it can cover laugh lines and crow’s feet on the face easily. If you have visible pores on the face, a liquid foundation can cover them up.
How to apply foundation on aging skin?
1. Take your liquid foundation and apply some dots on the face.
2. Spread the foundation using your fingers. The warmth of your fingers allows the foundation to spread evenly on the face thus giving you a radiant skin.
3. You can also use a sponge or foundation brush to spread and blend the foundation.
4. Take a blotting paper to get rid of excess product.
